From The Battlefield, General Gaming Update

Finally got Battlefield Bad Company this week so I have been spending a good amount of time on that. The single player is actually really good apart from a few AI problems that bring it down. Its nice to have a story to it as well and the main characters are funny a good bit of the time. But like any Battlefield game multiplayer is where its at. Played a good few match’s so far and i know a lot of people are coming over to this from COD4.

The scale of the maps, audio and effects really make you feel like you are fighting in a massive battle. Its hard to explain but you will notice it your self when you play it. I also finished metal gear this well and I had a lot of fun with it. I hope to play through it again or at least some of the missions. Still playing good old alone in the dark as well. I am using the DVD skip feature though to get closer to the end. Its fun, but has problems?

I Am Alone Tomorrow

Or so I hope. Yea Alone in the Dark looks set to arrive in the post for me tomorrow one day before launch. I have the collectors edition ordered as I am really interested in the making off DVD as well as getting some of the music from the game on CD. I really hope it does well because a lot of work went into it and it really look like a lot of fun and brings a lot of new things to the table. Anyway enjoy the pictures of the collectors edition below. I also found out this is out here in Europe before the USA. O and before I finally go, I plan to post an update on my current UT3 map soon. Should get a podcast done some time this week as well.

 

Metal Gear Arived Today

Well MGS4 arrived in the post today one day before launch. Played at least three hours of it and love it so far. I was surprised that the cut scenes did not upset me at all, in fact I love watching them. This is my first proper metal gear experience and I just love the gameplay. So many nice touches in the game like finding music from the older versions of MGS and then being able to play them on your in game I-Pod!

But I will save my thoughts for the review which I should post up in the next week or so, depending on how much I play. I also hope to do a Podcast tomorrow or on Friday with Metal Gear being a big topic. Any way everyone getting it tomorrow, have fun!

The Flip

I was just reading about this new video camera that’s been out in the US for a wile and its coming to the UK on Monday called The Flip. Its more or less a pocket video camera for under £100. It appears to be targeted at people wanting to do stuff for You Tube etc has its res is only 640×480, which is not bad and it will do up to an hour at once at 30 FPS. I have to say it does interest me a bit and I might do a bit more research into it as I could see my self using it.

First Day Of Summer

Its July 1st today so that means its the first day of summer. You may have noticed that the banner for the blog has changed. I have used the old one for a few months so i think I am going to go for this one now. So whats up for the blog this summer? Well I plan to do plenty of posting about games, game design, what movies I see and general stuff I am doing which will hopefully include a lot of canoeing!

I also want to add a few separate pages to the blog with interesting articles on them by me, most likley about games or game design, I have a few topics I want to talk about. Anyway talk to you all soon have a great summer.
